ACTIVITY POSSIBILITIES:

Eryri (Snowdonia) in North Wales offers endless possibilities for mountain hiking, in spectacular scenery. The ultimate mountain on many people’s list is Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon). This can be climbed during the day when the routes can be busier – or at night with the aim to enjoy sunrise on the summit, and the chance to celebrate your achievement with a magnificent view (weather depending!) You’ll then make your way down, enjoying the wonderful scenery with a feeling of great satisfaction that comes with climbing the highest mountain in Wales (1085 metres above sea level).

However, there is so much more to Eryri, with several mountains and valleys to trek, and getting off the beaten track can often lead to a more rewarding experience.

Easy scrambles and rock climbing opportunities abound, should you wish to incorporate these.

We will be happy to work on a programme for your holiday in Eryri and guide you on routes to suit your interests and requirements.

Physicality:

Hikes in North Wales often take place over rough, steep terrain, which can be slippery, particularly when wet. Mountain weather can be very changeable, and it can be cold at altitude and in the wind. Days out in the mountains can be quite strenuous and challenging, so a good level of physical fitness will aid your enjoyment. The length will depend on the exact route taken, but you should be prepared for a long day out, with 10 miles being a reasonably comfortable distance for you. We keep the pace at a level to suit you, so that you can enjoy the sights along the way, whilst bearing in mind the ground that needs to be covered (short cuts/backtracking will take place if necessary. Your safety is our number one consideration.

Previous experience:

Hikes on hilly and uneven ground, taking in several miles is recommended, as are well worn-in walking boots. No previous scrambling or rock climbing experience is necessary should you wish those activities to be included. We will discuss your experience, interests, requirements and fitness level in order to select suitable routes and activities.
