“We did a two day beginners navigating course with Mike for a friends birthday on Dartmoor and it was brilliant! 6 of us, all complete beginners began the course barley knowing how to hold a compass and we left on the second day feeling confident taking bearings, map reading and full of inspiration to go out and do our own walks!
Mike was really patient, a great teacher and just a nice person to be around 🙂 He tailored the weekend to exactly what we wanted and helped us to avoid some bad weather by adding in an indoor rock climbing session! Would highly recommend.”

As someone who is scared of heights, I had no idea how it would go or if I would be able to do any of the climbs. But Mike knew exactly the things to say and tips on how to build confidence, so that I had the best time!
The caving experience was insane! Mike filled us with so much confidence and took us through some amazing passages! My partner has definitely found his new hobby!

“Absolute 10/10 experience. I booked a surprise climbing instruction day with Mike for my partner’s birthday (we do indoor bouldering and this was our first go at outdoor climbing).
Mike was so patient, easy going and attentive, giving us a ropes 101 then getting into the climbs. He has an easy instructional touch and great intuition, giving tips where they’re needed but equally leaving us to it to problem solve where we were comfortable doing that.
Mike was super generous with his time. We got in loads of climbing and he helped us progress to some trickier climbs that I wouldn’t have thought we were up to! It seems he can just scale the day to work to any ability level.
Helen was great to deal with throughout the booking process – responsive and engaged to make sure we were all set for an epic day out.
