Are you looking for a fun multi-activity adventure day in Devon for your family, with friends or partner?

If so, this popular taster day on Dartmoor or nearby in South Devon allows you to combine two (or sometimes more) outdoor activities into one amazing day!

Ideas of outdoor activities to choose from:

  • Combine rock climbing and abseiling for half a day, then you can choose from adventure caving at Pridhamsleigh Cavern in Devon near Buckfastleigh, or learning to navigate on Dartmoor in the afternoon or evening.
  • Based close to Torbay we can also offer climbing and abseiling on the sea cliffs, combined with exciting sea level traversing, to make a full fun-packed day’s activity by the coast.
  • The Dewerstone Challenge is great for adventurous young families, combining scrambling up a rocky ridge through the trees, hill walking, climbing, abseiling, finishing with a Tyrolean rope traverse over the rushing river. What a fantastic multi-activity day!

We can discuss combining any two half day outdoor activity taster sessions into configurations that suit you, to make an exciting morning and afternoon – or afternoon and evening – full multi-activity day in beautiful locations in South Devon. Under the expert guidance of a highly experienced MCI qualified instructor, the day will be personalised for you.

You can do the activities just for fun, or might like to learn the basics of trad rock climbing, caving or navigating with a map and compass. Indeed we can help you increase your skills based on your current level, be that beginner, intermediate or advanced.

We can design the adventure day to suit your interests, and ensure you have a fun and safe experience, leaving with memories to cherish.

Included in the Multi-Activity Adventure Day:

  • Highly experienced and MCI qualified instructor.
  • Use of all essential equipment for rock climbing, abseiling, sea traversing and Tyrolean activities.
  • Cave entrance fee if you have chosen caving as one of your activities.
  • Unless otherwise stated, the Adventure Day multi-activities will be run privately for you, meaning you benefit from a personalised experience, focusing on your individual interests, ability and goals.

All you will need to bring:

  • Warm, comfortable clothing appropriate to the day. It is always worth packing waterproofs
  • Packed lunch and a drink
  • If rock climbing, abseiling, or sea cliff traversing is one of your chosen activities:
    • Comfy trainers to climb/abseil in (or climbing shoes if you have some)
  • If caving is one of your chosen activities:
    • Comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting wet and muddy such as a dark-coloured T-shirt and leggings/long trousers, and a lightweight jumper if you feel the cold (please note – the mud will stain light coloured clothing!)
    • A change of clothes for afterwards
  • If navigation is one of your chosen activities:
    • Waterproof walking boots
    • Essential navigation equipment (i.e. 1:25000 map of the area and compass – ask us if unsure!)
  • Your parent or guardian to accompany you if you are a child
  • A ‘Go for it’ mental attitude

Previous experience:

No previous experience is necessary, and all levels can be catered for – we will design the day to suit you! You may be a complete beginner wishing to try rock climbing, abseiling, sea traversing, caving or navigating for the first time; or have some previous experience but would like to get outside climbing in Devon, and combine this with other activities in the area. For caving, a good level of mobility is important, as it involves crouching, crawling and easy scrambling on uneven and slippery ground. The multi activity adventure day is suitable for families, individuals, couples and friends.
