About the activity:
Perhaps you never had the opportunity to complete the Ten Tors Challenge when at school and would like to give the North Moor perambulation challenge a go. Maybe you would like to set yourself a challenge of hiking to as many Dartmoor Tors as possible within a timeframe. A multi-day crossing is also a great introduction to expedition planning whilst perhaps you are preparing for even bigger adventures.
We will be more than happy to discuss a route and your objectives with you, and guide and support you accordingly.
EXAMPLES:
- Classic Ten Tors 35 Mile Circuit
- North to South Dartmoor Traverse
- Two Moors Way
Included:
- Highly experienced and qualified walks leader
All you will need to bring:
- Clothing which can be worn in layers, including a warm jumper in all seasons
- Waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers
- Waterproof walking boots

- Your spirit of adventure
If you have walking poles, it can be a good idea to bring them. Gaiters also help to keep your feet dry and protect your lower legs/trousers from spiky plants. A flask with hot drink can be worth its weight in gold!
Accommodation and transport to and from the start point is not included.
Physicality:
The level of walk you wish to take will be discussed with you and tailored to your requirements as far as possible. Although there are easier possibilities, many of Dartmoor’s best walking takes place over rough, hilly and often boggy terrain, sometimes off the beaten track, and may have small rivers to cross, over slippery surfaces. The length in distance will depend on the exact route taken, and we will keep the pace at a level to suit you, so that you can enjoy the sights along the way, whilst bearing in mind the ground that needs to be covered (short cuts may be possible if needs be).
Previous experience:
Previous walks on hilly and uneven ground, taking in several miles would be helpful, as would well worn-in walking boots.
